Q: Why Mothers Out Front?
A: Many years ago, when my son was in seven, after a lesson about Earth Day, he asked me, “Mom, do we recycle?” I said, “no” and he asked why not. I could not give a good reason because there was a recycling center in a nearby county, you needed a car to get there, but we had a car. From that point on, (my son is now 37), I’ve been a zealot about recycling. Now, though, the problems to address require more and greater action than recycling. We need to engage entire communities if we are to have impact. I believe MOF is doing this work in transformative and inclusive ways and I’m happy to be a part of ensuring success in this endeavor.
Q: Where’s your favorite place to be?
A: A lake in the mountains on a beautiful day.
