Our Work
Clean Affordable Heat Now
Massachusetts is at a crossroads. Our state has some of the oldest fossil gas infrastructure in the country, with hundreds of leaking pipes, and hundreds of millions of dollars worth of needed repairs. Now, our state has a choice to make: will we invest a fortune in building and replacing gas pipes that continue to fuel the gas industry, sickening our kids and worsening the climate crisis? Or will we meet our state’s climate goals and transition rapidly to clean heat?
Mothers Out Front Massachusetts believes that the transition to clean, affordable heat is not only possible, it is the only choice for our children’s future. That’s why we are running a 3-part campaign to:
Stop new large-scale gas pipelines,
Transition Massachusetts, neighborhood-by-neighborhood community-by-community to clean heat
Pass legislation to ensure the transition away from gas is rapid, affordable and locally-informed.
Take Action in MA
Sign the Neighborhood Electrification petition and show your support for transitioning from methane gas to all-electric homes in your municipality, especially in areas where utilities are planning to replace gas pipelines.
Send a letter to the governor and legislators urging them to address the true causes behind high gas prices: the costly and unnecessary expansion of large gas pipelines and the utilities’ use of ratepayer money to fund advertising, lobbying, and lavish expenses for their executives.
