From Passion to Action: A Virtual Workshop with Delegate Mark Keam
Join us for a virtual workshop on how to convert your passion for causes that impact your daily life into meaningful actions that impact policy in a productive way. This is the second in a series of workshops and will be focused on taking action at the state level in Virginia.
Our speaker, Delegate Mark Keam, will provide a brief overview of how the Virginia General Assembly works, including how bills are written, considered, passed, and enacted. He’ll answer the following questions:
- How does a bill pass through the General Assembly?
- What are the opportunities available to engage with General Assembly legislators?
- When are the best times to engage with our state representatives, and what are the best ways to engage them?
- Which resources should we be familiar with to be knowledgeable about what our elected representatives are working on?
We will also get the full story of the 2020 Clean Buses Grant Fund Bill and learn how to help get the bill passed in 2021.
The program is short but will include ample time for Q&A, so come ready to ask questions!
RSVP is required to receive the Zoom link.
