The Mothers Out Front Roanoke team represents mothers, grandmothers, and caregivers from the Roanoke Valley including, Roanoke City, Roanoke County and the City of Salem, VA.

Our team began in 2019 with a shared vision of fighting the Mountain Valley Pipeline which had been wreaking havoc through their region by causing sedimentation of the Roanoke River, impacting small farms and rural communities with eminent domain, deforesting mountsides, threatening endangered species, raising utility rates and putting residents at risk of exposure to methane, landslides and explosions and destroying cultural resources and burial sites. If completed the MVP would more than double the fossil fuel emissions for the state of Virginia.
