As mothers, we know that it is necessary to take bold, innovative measures to ensure that our kids will have a climate in which they can thrive. We commend the House of Representatives for standing up for the children of America to push our economy towards one that is based upon green technology like electric vehicles and clean energy. This pandemic has exposed the inequities that exist in our country. Inequities that are exacerbated by climate change. Making a just transition from dirty fossil fuels that pollute the air and water of people who live near them and speed the climate catastrophe is urgent. We cannot wait to act and must upend this looming climate crisis and protect our children and their future now. This bill is a strong first step to achieve a complete and just transition away from fossil fuels and toward clean and renewable energy.
