MOTHERS OUT FRONT NAMES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Beth Shipp joins a dynamic and diverse team as the urgency of the climate crisis calls for more bold, collective action
BOSTON, MA– The Board of Directors of Mothers Out Front is proud to announce Beth Shipp as the organization’s new Executive Director. Shipp joins Mothers Out Front at a pivotal time for the organization as it prepares to launch a new strategic plan that lays out an ambitious roadmap to grow and diversify its mom-led movement, strengthens its work on intersectional climate issues, and deepens the impact of its campaigns.
Shipp joins Mothers Out Front bringing more than two decades of experience in building and leading campaigns, programs, and organizations centering social justice causes. Most recently, she served as the Managing Director for Caring Across Generations, a campaign working to change how care is given, valued, and received in our country. She built and led a dynamic multi-generational, multi-racial team of people who are working to improve our nation’s care infrastructure and the lives of people most impacted by it – primarily women, people of color, and immigrants – so that we can all not just survive but thrive.
“I am thrilled to be joining the talented and visionary team of Mothers Out Front to continue the critical work they have engaged in to reverse our climate crisis,” said Shipp. “The values and vision of Mothers Out Front – to create equitable, just, and inclusive opportunities for moms, aunts, sisters, and all people to create a better world and environment for our children and our future – inspires me. I can’t wait to see what great things we accomplish together for our planet and our people.”
As Executive director, Beth will oversee a staff of almost 30 employees, develop operating and organizational systems that reflect the values of Mothers Out Front and support our vision for growth. She will play a key role in managing and further developing the organizational structure that supports our growing volunteer organization of more than 30,000 members, and will lead the organization’s implementation of our new 3-year strategic roadmap.
