Come join Janice Pare, a Municipal Recycling Analyst from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, who will be our guest to talk about all things ‘compost’ in Massachusetts. Compostable material (food waste and yard waste) makes up about 33% of the waste stream in MA. Learn how the state is tackling the issue of wasted food at the commercial level, and some of the ways municipalities are providing access to food waste collection. We’ll also review some of the basics related to backyard composting, the most immediate way for people with yards to reduce the amount of waste they generate. Bring your questions — and answers!
