Linnea Brett
Distributed Organizing Manager
Linnea brings more than a decade of movement experience to Mothers Out Front, getting her start as a canvasser in Western New York, knocking on doors to ban hydrofracking in New York State. She worked as a Just Transition organizer at the Clean Air Coalition of WNY, running campaigns for environmental and economic justice in Buffalo, NY, taking on polluters and government agencies with strong neighborhood teams. She spent 8 years organizing with Showing Up For Racial Justice (SURJ), starting as a chapter member, moving into coaching, training, and running distributed programming and campaigns for a network of 100+ chapters across the country. She was also a founding member and Chief Steward of the SURJ Workers Union. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy and a Master’s in Environmental Land Use Planning, both from the University at Buffalo. When she’s not organizing, you can find her planning menus for dinner parties, trying to finish all her library holds before they’re due, weeding her garden, and hanging with her wife and their pets in South Minneapolis.
